first impression

Ashley's graphic skills don't look amazing, however she's created a generally nice layout that's girly (you must admit!) and awfully cute. Her URL confuses me. It's http://unfortunatefate.rawrpink.org, yet in her update (and site graphic) we can see that she's changed the name of her site to Lacuna Layouts. I think it would be nice if they matched -- maybe she should talk to her host, Summar at Rawrpink.

graphic

The graphic isn't very complex. Paint stroke brushes in hot pink, neon blue, and bright purple with orbs of "glowing" white over them, along with a barely dressed girl off to the left; it doesn't even look like the bright purple in the graphic matches the purple of her bra (bra or bikini?).

the site name can be clearly written right across the graphic. The fonts used are nice and go well together, and it's really cute.

The flow of graphic to coding is really well done, too. It doesn't look like a graphic that's just been slapped up with CSS, it looks like they specifically belong together.

coding

Ashley's CSS isn't over the top, but it's not boring at all. Different headers are used (pink with a blue underline and blue with a pink underline), and the colors from her graphic have been used very nicely.

Using different fonts might have made the CSS a little more interesting, maybe.

The black text (the main text) is a little too dull against the grey background. Maybe the light blue from the graphic or a light grey would do the trick.

content

Site content includes layouts, codes, color schemes, music skins, premades, psd's, sunvectors, content headers, picture captions, about me headers, preppy sign tutorial, color orb tutorial, welcome headers, and birthday graphics.

layouts;
Hmm. I know along the top it says that these all look a lot better on your profile (when using them) than they do as previews... but really now, they all just look the same and boring.

They're just the same layouts in ten different colors. Then a different style, but ten different colors. Then a different style, but ten different colors...

codes;
Oh. Interesting. I wasn't really sure what these were going to be. Just simple codes for people using her layouts. That's nice.

"itilized" should be italicized

color schemes;
Some of these are nice and cute. Don't be afraid to use darker colors or pastels though.

music skins;

They're made to match her layouts, which is really convenient for the users, and a great idea.

premades;
"Onesd" should be ones ... better yet, premades.

No previews? That's a little annoying.

...what are these for? What do you do with them? Who's in them? Are these random girls off of myspace? I mean, really, I'm sort of curious.

psd's;
"psd's" should be PSDs. No apostrophe.

No previews again? Time to start using screen caps.

Most of these are really well done and look like they may have been hard to do. Good job, Ashley.

sunvectors;
I've never heard of a "sunvector," but it's definitely sun vector. Two words.

No previews.

Oh these are interesting. They're sunbursts. How would somoene really use them though?

content headers;
People can, and should, and are, making their own.

picture captions;
I did not make these! Is written along the top of the page. If Ashley didn't, then who did? Did she credit them? Why's she even bothering to put them on here site if she didn't make them...?

These are sort of lame (haha, sorry). I think it's really cheesy when people put things like this under their myspace pictures. But hey, whatever floats your boat.

about me headers;
I don't really think someone would use these. Do you?

preppy sign tutorial;
Why is this randomly listed in the middle of all the content? I think tutorials should have their own page, or at least be somewhat seperated from the content.

Though this tutorial may help some, all of the screen shots are annoying. Though it would have taken Ashley more time to type out the rules on a page and add linked screen shots, it would have looked a lot nicer. I don't want to open 29 new images just so I can read 29 steps.

color orb tutorial;
Please see above.

welcome headers;
I mean seriously... would people use these?

birthday grapihcs;
Cute idea, but the graphics are really dull.

navigation

Navigating this site is really easy; everything, absolutely everything is linked right in the sidebar.

overall

This site is nice and has a lot of potential. The current site layout is very cute and girly, though it's not extremely impressive. The CSS matches well and isn't boring.

The visitor content ranges from being nice to plain and useless. I would reccomend ditching the more useless content and improving the current content.

The myspace layouts seem really repetetive.

I think the tutorials should at least have a double line break from the content on the content page... you know?
