first impression

Massive amounts of clutter in that graphic! There's a lot crammed into that image.

Why doesn't the image start at the top and left of the page? There are pixels of dead, white space above the image and to the left of it.

In the blog you're greeted by...

FUCK YOU CUTENEWS AND GO TO HELL.

Please.

That's not an appropriate first page for any visitor to see.

graphic

A superfluous amount of original images smashed together comes to mind. I mean really, there's so much going on here. You don't need that many original images. It doesn't even look that great, it just looks extremely cluttered, like Lilly and/or Annie (depending on who made the graphic) didn't know when to stop.

coding

An obvious problem with the main divider would be... it overlaps onto the graphic. Here you can see what I mean.

The code is nice, better than the graphic.

It's not boring, the main text can be read, so can underline, italic, strike through, and bold text. Links are easy to spot, too.

I would reccomend a different header for the blog, seeing as it's just bold while the sidebar and cbox have bigger headers.

content

Let's see. Upon clicking "content" you're taken to the site's "terms and agreement" which sounds a little awkward. Well, I might as well read these over.

1] You will whoreship the effort put into these graphics. That would be rule one. I feel that putting whoreship instead of worship is rather crude. What about the codes though? No one has to "whoreship" those?6] We will go ninja on your ass if you fail to meet these rules. Rule number six isn't even a rule. That should just be posted as a site note either above or below the actual rules.

There's really no point in putting a deny link at the bottom.

Visitor content includes layouts, blends, icons, and tutorials.

layouts;
It's not that hard to type out etcetera. Layouts are split into actors (which has zero, so it's pointless to have it up there.), artists, bands, and model/people.

The layouts have little thumbnails that feature a portion of the layout.

Most of these look like they were really quickly made. A lot are just pictures slapped up with a brush or two, and the coding is typically boring. All of the layouts (by chance) that I've looked at have been made by Lilly, and I've looked at at least ten.

blends;
Three are available. The one featuring Pink shows the most talent and time.

icons;
The page is blank and the cbox has been moved over from the right? Click here and see for yourself.

tutorials;
One: Layout Tqchnique #1. This seems like it would be easy for an amature to follow along with. I have my own ways of doing things, so I wouldn't use it, but I can see how it would be helpful.

navigation

This site is really easy navigable. The layout features an image map which includes home, content, site, owners, loves, and credit. (And host.)

Wonderful! They have a nice list of resources under the credit page.

overall

The graphics need some work, some are extremely cluttered while some are extremely bland.

The site layout's code is really nice, but all of the layouts available for public use could really use some more time spent on them.

The homepage's blog update is vulgar, as is a section of the site's rules.

I would reccomend fixing that dead page that's meant for icons.

comments

note: the cbox below is the same one on all review pages.

if you leave a comment... then refer to the name of the site. This review was for Faux Affliction

This cbox is for visitors to comment about the sites that have been reviewed. It is not for visitors' complaints, defending of friends, telling me how to review sites, or for juding my site. If you want to do one of those listed above, feel free to e-mail me at skylineillusions@yahoo.com which is the site e-mail that I check frequently; I don't feel as if there is a need for any one to e-mail me over these reviews, though. I check this cbox about once every two weeks, usually only if one of my friends says "Go look at that cbox!"
