site: Crush
owner: Keisha
reviewed: November 6th, 2008
My pop up blocker keeps blocking pop ups.
The pixalation of the images looks bad. I don't know who's in the graphic; are they from a movie, a television show?
The image in the bottom left of the graphic looks bad due to how white it is, it doesn't look ghostly or glowing, it just looks too light.
The whole graphic has this weird white over it and around it, which I don't really understand.
However! The site name can be easily read, and it's easy to see what version this is.
Using different headers for the main div and the sidebar would be a nice touch, along with using different fonts.
The repeating image background is very obvious, and I really don't like seeing the background image repeat on the x axis like that, but maybe Keisha does.
These aren't organized in any particular order, they're not all titled, some are pixalated, some have poor color themes, some have fonts that are hard to read, some are just cropped with one image effect. However, some are very sharp images that look nice, and some of the models looks very emotional, and I like how simple some of them are.
layouts;
Screen shots (thumbnail previews) would be so much more helpful for her visitors.
What's the point of offering a layout with a cbox option or without it? I don't know, because
I can't look at any of these layouts. They all show up as 404 page errors.
Apparently if you want to use a layout, you have to copy her form, paste it in an e-mail, fill it out, and send it to her. That's so tedious for visitors! I think most visitors would just skip doing that and move on to a different site or click view source and take the code. Seriously.
graphic requests;
Page doesn't load.
layout requests;
She only accepts one layout request at a time? Two days to two weeks? Two days to
two weeks would be a lot more acceptable if she took more than one layout request
at a time...
The "lets go!" link along the bottom doesn't work, so visitors can't fill out the form anyway. I believe Lets should be let's.
The Crush page is a little bit of info about the site and the site history. B/c should just be spelled out: because. "crushcrushcrush" should be capitalized: Crushcrushcrush. There should be a comma before "also."
The Keisha page splits off onto various pages about the owner.
We already covered the visitor page. While I've returned though... I don't understand why she lists so many role playing sites, which she doesn't own. I think a different page would have been better. Advertising, maybe?
Off of the extra page, you can find her resources. I think the resources belong under the "Crush" page. When I think of extras, I think of articles, games, interactive things...
It looks like a nice, organized list of resources! I see she's credited my site, yay. This is actually a really nice, thorough list of resources.
The broken links are a problem, and they should be fixed immediately.
Some of the icons should be deleted, but some should definitely be kept. It would be nice if the icons were on a site page!
It's really annoying for visitors to have to e-mail her to ask for a layout's code. They could easy just view the source and take the code, anyway.
Starting off with high quality graphics is the key here.
Her site is fairly well organized, and it's easy to see she doesn't try to steal any of her resources.
This cbox is for visitors to comment about the sites that have been reviewed. It is not for visitors' complaints, defending of friends, telling me how to review sites, or for juding my site. If you want to do one of those listed above, feel free to e-mail me at skylineillusions@yahoo.com which is the site e-mail that I check frequently; I don't feel as if there is a need for any one to e-mail me over these reviews, though. I check this cbox about once every two weeks, usually only if one of my friends says "Go look at that cbox!"
