site: Coloured-Hearts
owner: Danielle
reviewed: September 25th, 2008
The front, middle image goes nicely with the red theme, but making a person red like that looks peculiar.
I like the flower brushes, but the circle/target brush is a little lame and boring.
I can barely read the site name, though I can blatantly see "Hilary Duff" in big letters.
Fonts that look alike have been used: tahoma, verdana, etcetera, for most fonts, except for the italic text. It's a little boring and repetetive.
The links in the sidebar have no hover effect! How boring!
downloads;
None of the links to the subpages work.
graphics;
I hate it when sites have subpage after subpage...
Affiliate Images;
Affiliate images can be made by whomever wants to use them, they're pretty pointless and a waste of space to offer.
Backgrounds;
Link doesn't work.
Blends;
Most of the blends are blended nicely, are attractive, and aren't boring at all.
Button Bases;
People can and should make their own button bases,
this is another waste of time and space.
Bullets;
Link doesn't work.
Coded Layouts;
One. The Jonas Brothers. This is so boring! The graphic and the css are just so dull. Based on Danielle's blends, I know she
can do better.
Icons;
A lot are just cropped pictures. The ones with editing and enhancements look a lot better.
Mini Blends;
Where would anyone use these?
Pixels;
Link doesn't work.
Pixel Text;
Link doesn't work.
Retouches;
These are nice, but I have no reference, how about before pictures? So, can I use these in a layout if I wanted to?
html codes;
I hate all of these subpages, dear god.
Oh, hey, she says she didn't make any of them. Why does she offer them then!? I don't even see a link to the real owners!
I'm not reviewing this part! It's not hers!
Photography;
Link doesn't work.
PNG'S
No apostrophe needed. Link doesn't work.
Resources;
Again with the crapload of subpages.
coded layouts;
Why are these in resources? Weren't they in graphics, too? Yes, they were, I already reviewed this...
color palettes;
There's not much one can say about color palettes...
Icon textures;
Just let visitors crop full size textures!
scans;
Link doesn't work.
scripts;
Link doesn't work.
stocks;
Link doesn't work.
textures;
Link doesn't work.
tutorials;
Six of the eight links don't even work. On the subpages, not all of the links work. The tutorials, overall, seem
easy to follow.
others;
Link doesn't work.
A nice list of resources can be found off of the domain page, which is wonderful.
FIX ALL OF THOSE BROKEN LINKS! It's not just one or two, it's a lot more! If visitors can't get to the content, they can't use it or view it.
Quite a few useless content sections... I would suggest focusing on more useful content. Putting her time into the useful content instead of spreading it out over an abundance of content would be a good idea: if she spends more time on fewer things, she'll improve on those quicker and make nicer content.
Again: really... fix all of those broken links. Jesus.
There was only one color in the site code besides black. Red! It got boring really quickly. Color schemes are nice.
