musc: Strikes Again
loving: Sabryna

Today is the official opening of my brand new domain! I bought it a few days ago, and I've been working to make the layout, learn some new things, and get the site up ever since. I worked really hard...

My first hostee is my friend Sabryna at Antebellum. She's done a wonderful job on her layout and site, so check her out.

Many thanks to Kitty and Amanda for answering my questions once I bought the domain or needed help with cutenews.

Free subdomain hosting is currently available.

Lily, a big welcome to the Skyline family.

Additions to the site... early this morning (around two, Lily?), a new hostee joined the Skyline Coven. Lily at Melancholy Smile. She has a very nice, new layout up on her site so go check her site out and leave her a comment.

Light stocks have been added! Here you can see the categories. All togethor, I added over one hundred light stocks today. If you want more in depth rules for them, go here for the full length rules.

Eventually random scans will be added. Textures are coming soon, too...

Two more reviews have been completed! Tini's review has been completed and posted, and Chelsea's site was reviewed, but it was a private review, sorry.

With some work I have figured out who "Mailbox Arson" is. First, I will tell you, that Mailbox Reviews is a review site ran by someone under an alias because she's... afraid of people knowing who it is? Doesn't want to take heat for her reviews? Is afraid that people will judge her? Well, the owner is the owner of Crooked Teeth. There's no need to hide behind an alias. Her current update is riddled with typos and grammatical errors, too. I feel like if you want to open a review site, I understand you want to be honest, which is what Taylor has said many, many times on her review site, but you can be honest without hiding. Hiding makes you seem extremely shady and that you're afraid of your own opinion.

I have proof that cannot be denied (in reality) by anyone.

stock

feeling: down and lonely (though accomplished.)
music: The Used
loving: Sabryna & Lily

After... a lot of time scanning, then a lot of time of making thumbnails and uploading and linking and codes... mayhem... I have more new content for the site. Stocks have been added! paper and tags & decorations. Personally, my favorites are the tags & decorations.

Speaking of mayhem. This update was just delayed by twenty minutes due to dificulties with my FTP account. Well. Not my FTP account, but the FTP program. I switched to a different one and had no problems.

I've basically been disowned by my father. We'll see how long that lasts... it was really hurtful.

Onto other updates. The staircase at my mother's house is still a wreck. There is no banister at all along the second floor (What a joke. I'm amazed I haven't fallen to my death yet.), and all the way down the staircase, we have one piece of wood, the railing. It's about three feet or so higher than the staircase, there are no balistrades which means you can slip right through. It's rather easy to slip now, too, since my mother's gotten the stairs hardwooded. (Another joke. If I don't fall to my death from the second story, surely I will slip and fall to my death on the hardwooded, slippery stairs.)

Speaking of which. On my way downstairs earlier today, I twisted my ankle (Sabryna, Lily, and Michelle all know this.), then nearly fell under the railing due to lack of balistrades. It wasn't too fun.

the dress
date: August 16th, 2008
time: 3:41 am
feeling: pleased (about the dress, but not much else.)
music: John Mayer
loving: Lily

Updates first. I added around twenty stocks to the paper and the tags & decorations, so yippee. I've also added celebrity scans which doesn't have too many scans as of right now, but will grow. A new brush set has been added, so go check that out if you'd like.

Many thanks to Lily for helping me with cutenews again.

So, the headline, The Dress. Well. Last year I went to my high school's winter formal; it was fun, but that's not the point. I hate shopping, especially for dresses. Okay, I don't hate shopping all the time, I like to go if I need something or want something particularly; dresses do not count, nor do bathing suits. I hate dress shopping and bathing suit shopping with such a passion. Ugh. Anyway... after a lot of struggle, I had bought a dress for the winter formal (wahoo.). When I went to prom, though, I needed a new dress (because I had gained weight. ugh.) which was unfortunate, because I would have been perfectly happy to wear the winter formal dress.

For prom, I went through the painful task of dress shopping again. I found out that I had gone up two sizes! They were different brands though, so, maybe it was only one size in real comparsion. Either way, it was crappy for me. Finally, I had found one I'd liked and bought it, wore it to prom, whatever, who cares. My date cared, he said I looked gorgeous. So did my brothers.

Recently I tried the winter formal dress on because I always judge my body weight; that's probably the only area where I have poor self-esteem. IT FITS AGAIN!!! Not only does it fit again, but it's even a little looser than when I wore it to the winter formal! Which means that I went back down those two sizes from prom, plus a little more. Extremely happy about that, of course.

This is... belated. But here's a picture of the dress I wore to winter formal.

fits again!
Click to enlarge, opens in a new window.

Very happy. Maybe this year for winter formal I'll post pictures up here, hmm? Maybe I'll do it for prom, if I go, too.

vacation
date: August 21st, 2008

feeling: tired
music: none
loving: Dad and Sabryna

Updates have been slow due to the fact that I'm on vacation with my family, my aunt, uncle, and two cousins, and two other families we're pretty good friends with are staying next door.

I've been down here since the... 17th. For the first two days the water was beautiful, calm, clear, warm, it was great.

Yesterday, effects from Fay were in the ocean. The waves got a lot bigger and crashed so quickly there was barely any down time in the water. It's not too bad yet, I've been here while it's been a lot worse.

Getting tan, though!

Note to everyone: I will be replying to all comments as long as your site can load on this internet (It's not the best wireless signal.), affiliation applicants, hosting applicants, advertising applicants, everyone, should be able to get an e-mail response while I'm down here. If I don't add you while I'm here you can expect me to the day I return (Sunday). E-mails take a long time to load sometimes so it really just depends, I'm sorry.

My wonderful hostee, Sabryna at Antebellum, is very excited to offer reviews on her site! She has a lot of experience in web design, she helps me when I'm stuck (usually for graphics.), has offered to help me with making my codes Fire Fox friendly (her codes work in Internet Explorer and Fire Fox!), she makes great graphics for her layouts and matching, well-made style sheets to go along with them. If you're interested in being reviewed by her and all her talent, click here and apply!

I hope everyone's having a good time with whatever they're doing. Maybe someone else is on vacation, too? I can still reply to comments as long as my internet doesn't throw a fit!

A new site layout, everyone! This one is more organized, really, which was the main reason I made a new one. The old one had begun to bore me, too. It happens, as all layout makers know. What does everyone think of the new layout? I think everything is a lot easier to find on the sidebars now. Anyone interested in hosting? It's not hidden anymore.

Seven new reviews have been added, you can find them listed on the left sidebar under the "reviews" section.

Now I'm going to go back to my inbox and sort through the affiliation applicants and advertising applicants; hopefully loading the e-mails won't take too long.

Last week, my wonderful hostee, Lily made me a set of smilies for cutenews! :vampire:     :eh: :hate: Aren't they cute? I love the vampire one, haha.

loving Sabryna for a lot of reasons

I never moved my layouts over from my old site, so I think I basically started over. The first layout I added was Vogue, check it out here.

Affiliates! Check the affiliate page if you ever stop by, I deleted the page a few days ago accidentally. I think I have everyone, but of course, I'm sure I've missed a few. Just let me know and I'll get your link up immediately.

I think I have a review or two waiting in my inbox, so I'll probably go start one of those now. Hopefully I can finish later today. Sometimes they take a long time if the owners have an abundance of content, but that's a good thing, if it's useful content!

Does Quizilla! really plan on resurrecting the homages? How long has it been? Almost half a year? It's really lame. A lot of people have moved over to Mibba, but as of right now, I still really don't care for that site at all. Maybe I'll make a Freewebs for my writing. I have a lot stories I can post and ideas for new stories. Excited, excited, excited!

Thank you, Brandon, for posting in in my c-box. I love you too! =)

the sun

music: none
loving: the dark

Edit as of August 31st, 12:31 am: another new layout.

Before I ramble on about the sunlight, school, etcetera... I thought I'd mention, one new model layout is now available here.

School starts on Monday (Yes, Labor Day, I know, thank you.) which means my mother has ripped the sheets and blankets off of my windows, which I've had up there all summer. Yes, I did, to keep out the sunlight. I go to bed between 2 am and 6 am during the summer and sleep until 1 pm to 3:30 pm. That is all over now. She has ripped off the sheets and blankets and now my room is flooded with sunlight... the blinds do nothing. Nothing!

With school starting on Monday and all, I've been spending a lot of time doing my summer reading, which is so, very un-like me. I usually get that stuff out of the way about half way through summer but I was a bum this summer and worked on this site a lot instead. It's okay, I read quickly and I'll complete the remaining book by Monday. I've also been studying for my spanish exam tomorrow. Oh, the joys.

Not to mention I've had a horrible on and off head ache for the past three days.

...this is the third time I've tried to post this update. For the love of God, I am cursed.

time of death
date: August 31st, 2008
time: 10:15 pm
feeling: (insert emotion here.)
music: Alanis Morissette
loving: high fives & peace signs

Long blog consisting of: model layout, time of death, summer reading, lockers, spanish exams & a teacher that bumped up my score, laptop, Alanis Morissette, field hockey, hostees.

Once again before I begin my actual blogging, I'll just mention that I've added another model layout. If you find yourself interested or curious you may look here. Yes, that layout was part of the edit in the update from two days ago.

TIME OF DEATH: 8:00 AM

Yes, unfortunately the time has come for me to return to school. My time of death is tomorrow; approximately eight in the morning. At eight am tomorrow, I will be reporting to my advisor (at least I love, love, love my advisory even though no one would ever peg us as friends. Plus, I have my older brother, whom I love dearly.) where we will all meet, talk about the new parts of the school, schedule, cirriculum... all of which I already know about... which makes my going basically pointless. Yet, it is still mandatory! Which is, of course, how school works!

I had two summer reading books this summer, both of which have tremendously bored me to death. The one book has been so jammed of nonsense I'm about ready to flip a bitch. I will, actually, upon my english teacher. He has an earful coming his way. It's all right though, he knows how I work, for the most part, and respects me and loves me as a student.

I went into school today to take an exam (which I will talk about in a little bit.) and when I went to my locker, all of the new students had welcome signs and name tags on their llockers. It was really a waste of trees for a school that tries to be so eco-friendly. Not to mention the fact that my class never got welcome signs on our lockers when we were freshmen. In addition to that though: I don't have my spare locker anymore! It was a busted up, half-broken, didn't open all the time because the handle was more or less broken, empty locker next to my locker. I used it, though, and I let my friend use it for his guitar when he brought it in.

But, yes, I did go into school today, even though it was a Sunday. I took my exam to place out of Spanish II and, hopefully, place into Spanish III. I know, I'm taking Spanish a little later than some people, but I'm still learning it and that's the point. I went in to take this test though, okay? Someone (Carla) wrote up the test, but the proctor was a different person (Josephine), who loves and adores me and thinks I'm brilliant. I was a little nervous though, I had taken the course at my local college instead of my actual school, so I wasn't sure if I'd taught myself enough of the vocab on the side. I did know all of the grammatical stuff. The first page was oral, so I did that last. The second page was drawing the vocab out! I asked Josephine if I really had to draw it, and she said it was ridiculous that I had to, but, yes, I had to.

Then she starts looking at all of the vocab, "Oh, you know this stuff though. See, just draw a turtle, windows, a table cloth..." for a few of them. Which means, she just gave me the answers.

Later one when I went back to the oral part, the person who had made the test gave Josephine the wrong cd, which meant she didn't have what I was supposed to listen to, which means she couldn't ask the questions, which meant I couldn't answer. She got very upset that Carla hadn't given her the correct cd, and she told me that I would just get all of those points for free. For free!

I'm really happy that I have my new laptop this year for school. I mainly bought it for web design, though. It has a 17" screen, which is a little large for a laptop, but not the largest they make. I may end up just taking my older one instead. It has a 15.4" screen, weighs less, and it's only a year and a half old, anyway.

Music wise, I could use some new music for all of the free time I have during my schedule this year. I did, finally, load my Alanis Morissette cd onto my itunes (curse you Apple.). I have been reunited with Morissette and it is oh, so wonderful!

Back to the whole school busieness... I think field hockey tryouts are tomorrow, too. Dear god they really try to kill us at my school, you haven't a clue! It's nice to know that I get on automatically by being the only goalie and all. I'm good, too, which is a nice bonus for myself, the team, the coach... I actually have talent as a goal tender.

A quick shout out to my hostees. I'm so glad that you all get along and we can all speak with one another and not hate doing it! We have a nice group here, don't we girls? Sarbyna, Lily, & Michelle are all wonderful and very cooperative, so please check out their sites, too.

I'm sure I will end up blogging about school tomorrow night... but if I don't, it's only because school has, once again, beaten me down a little. This happens during the first two weeks or so at this place, I've noticed. It never happened at previous schools of mine.

What a seriously long update.
